Steel Pencil Limited

Steel Pencil Ltd is dedicated to providing detail drawings of engineering structures. Principally this means that we produce structural steel shop drawings for steel fabricators. We also produce detail drawings of other trades - for example, precast concrete shop drawings.

Steel Pencil, previously a business unit of Consulting Engineers, the background has given us a unique understanding of the role of the consulting engineer and the preparation of engineering drawings. Our team are also drawn from wide backgrounds, including from the fabrication industry. These close associations mean that we have a long history of working with top quality companies and an understanding of the production - and interpretation - of design documents.

We use the high end 3D CAD software Tekla Structures (formerly known as XSteel) for our steel detailing, and Microstation for other work.
