- Implementation for the new High Strength Bolt Standard, AS/NZS 1252-2016 for New Zealand
The new revised Australian and New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 1252-2016 'High-strength steel bolts with associated nuts and washers for structural engineering' was released on 23 December 2016.
SCNZ is seeking industry feedback to develop a co-ordinated transition to the revised AS/NZS 1252-2016. A brief discussion paper on issues which will affect an orderly adoption of the new Standard is available here.

A new SCNZ fact sheet which outlines the key changes to the suite of AS/NZS Structural Steel Product Standards (AS/NZS 1163, 3678, 3679.1-2) and the likely timeframe for the supply of all steel products to the latest revisions is available here
- AS/NZS 5131: Structural Steelwork
Fabrication and Erection defines the minimum requirements for the fabrication and erection of structural steelwork. This standard will replace the fabrication and erection provisions in the current Steel Structures standard NZS 3404.
