SCNZ is thrilled to announce the launch of the 2018 Excellence in Steel Awards featuring an updated format, revised categories and exciting new opportunities.

The annual Awards celebrate excellence in the field of steel construction in New Zealand.

PFS Engineering was named supreme winner at the 2017  Excellence in Steel Awards for the landmark Canada Street Bridge.

Search Begins for the 2018 Apprentice of the Year

SCNZ is proud to announce that the 2018 SCNZ Apprentice of the Year Award, in association with award sponsor Weldwell and industry training partner Competenz, is now open for entries. 


The award celebrates excellence amongst apprentice fabricators and casts a spotlight on careers in the structural steel industry.

Simon Jackson from MLH Engineering was named SCNZ Apprentice of the Year in 2017 at the Metals Industry Awards Gala dinner on 15 September in front of over 220 guests.
